1. The strengths in Coalwood is that everyone knows their routine each day and that it is a close community. The weakness is that everything is company owned so they do not have a lot of freedom.
2. Sonny said that he and his father do not get along on anything.
3. Coalwood is similar because it is a small town. It is also different because everything in Coalwood is the same and they don't have freedom to do what they want.

1. Everyone in the town has their life pretty much defined by the coal company. This made it a very safe way of living, knowing that you won't be able to be poor or unemployed.
2. Sonny loves his father and would love to get to know him more, but he is never available.
3. Coalwood is pretty nice, and everyone seems to know everyone else. It is a relatively quiet neighborhood and there isn't any crime.

1. The most significant one that comes to mind is the election of the first African American president. This is significant because it shows how far America has come since the times of segregation.
2. They are not the brightest, they are not very good at sports, and have different interests than most boys.
3. Their thoughts on the coal mine and building rockets are very different. Their ideas of space travel are very different.
